St Anthony’s actively supports access by students to information resources together with the development, by staff, of appropriate skills to analyse and evaluate such resources.
The school recognises that technology continually changes and evolves and with that student instruction and student learning will change and evolve as well.
The school recognises that electronic information research skills are now required as essential tools for society members and future employees.
Access to electronic information resources should enable students to explore thousands of libraries, databases and the Internet. The School believes that the benefits to students of being able to access and retrieve information from these resources and the opportunities this provides for collaborative learning, far exceeds the disadvantages.
St Anthony’s, Dimbulah expects that staff incorporate appropriate use of information technology throughout the curriculum and that teachers will provide both guidance and instruction to students in their daily use of this resource.
Teachers will facilitate and support students when accessing information to help enrich their learning while taking into account the various learning styles, abilities, needs and development levels of students.
