Unless there is some extraordinary reason, children should not arrive at the school or be in the school grounds before 8:20am. Supervision commences at 8:20am. Extraordinary reasons for arriving early must be discussed with School Administration.
It is very important that the children are at school in time for the 8:45 am bell.
Children are obliged to leave the school grounds immediately upon dismissal, unless waiting for the arrival of parents or buses. Children being collected by parents must use the gate on Hyde Street. Children travelling home by bus should make their way to the front of the Church where the buses will be waiting.
Leaving the School Grounds
Children are not permitted to leave the school grounds during school hours unless accompanied by a parent or unless a note is presented indicating parental permission. Please refer to Early Release section below.
Early Release
If it is necessary to collect your child earlier than 3:00pm, you must sign the child out in a book, which is kept in the school office. This is so we account for all children in an emergency situation. If your child returns again throughout the same day, they must be signed back in.
Absences
At St Anthony’s School, parents are encouraged to contact the school by telephone or email on the day that a student is absent. If students are absent without notification or a pattern of non-attendance is developing, parents are contacted. A note is also required if a child is unable to participate in any aspect of the school program (eg sports, physical education, etc).
Late Arrivals
If your child arrives after 8.45am they must go to the office to collect a Late Slip. This slip notifies the teacher that the child’s attendance roll has been amended from absent to present.
